Kadampa Buddhist Teacher Liana Dawson
Liana searched briefly in the 70’s for meaning in religion but was not exposed to Buddhism. She subsequently followed a path finding meaning in life through helping others, either through advancing community in her work in the space program or through healing individually in her work as a physician. One evening unexpectedly, a light, a feeling, and a word pervaded her senses and turned her towards Buddhism and towards the Kadampa practice. She has felt harmony, peace and familiarity with the practice since then and has been an avid practitioner and intellectual follower. Her initial teaching efforts involve meditation retreats on emptiness and GP classes at our newest location St. Mary’s Georgia. She has a daughter, two dogs, a bird, five turtles, a tank of cichlids and visits daily with the alligators and eagles near her home.
