Information
Maitreya Kadampa Buddhist Center, formerly called Drolma Kadampa Buddhist Center Northeast - a branch center of Drolma Kadampa Buddhist Center in Fort Lauderdale, was granted recognition as a center by our Spiritual Director, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso in September 2008. At the same time, Carol Lutker has been named Resident Teacher. She brings a wealth of experience and depth to her teaching for the success and health of our program here.
We have had a continuously running Genaral Program class taught by Carol Lutker in Neptune Beach since January of 2006. As of January 2008, our membership grew to 11 sponsors, we have leased our own space and increased General Program from once weekly to twice weekly.
We moved into our expanded new location in Jacksonville/Atlantic Beach in November 1, 2008. We are continuing to grow, offering pujas, regular weekly courses and meaningful opportunities for our students to further and deepen their practices and for the community to encounter and benefit from this rich and practical tradition.
